The tree is up, the stockings are hung, that elf is back at it, the outdoor decor has already lost a couple bulbs, and we are ready for the Christmas Season! Have you picked up your Christmas Tree yet? Here are my picks for the Best Christmas Tree Farms Near New York City.
The kids and I made Gingerbread houses… this did not go as planned. It was pretty much a disaster. But we did get our Christmas tree and got it up and decorated and that was a win! Thomas helped with the train under the tree and Lily helped me created a gorgeous winter village on our window sill. Have you picked up your Christmass Tree yet? I say, grab a car, your winter boots, your jackets and hats and head upstate.
There is so much to do in every season of the year here in the NorthEast and picking out our Christmas Tree is one of our favorite activities. This year we didn’t go to a farm to pick out our tree because my 28-week pregnant body was not having it. But we love the experience of getting hot cider and cookies at a tree farm, wagon rides, the smell of the fresh trees, picking out wreaths and garlands, and walking through the woods to pick out our tree. Some farms will even let you chop down the one you want. We’ve never done this… kids + sharp things + manual labor are not always high on my list of things to do.
I want to share some of our favorite Christmas Tree Farms for all your greens this year! Most of these are within a one hour drive from NYC with a couple being about 2 hours. But its such a gorgeous drive up the Hudson Valley into the New York Country. Go for it!
