Introducing StokkeSteps with Momtrends

My fab friend Nicole who runs the site –  Momtrends, recently hosted an event for Stokke, launching their newest product – stokkesteps

Stokke – is a brand which makes gorgeous simple, design conscious baby must haves – strollers, cribs, carriers, high chairs and more.

20140226-224605.jpg

Their most recent launch was the Stokke Steps high chair and bouncer.

STokkeSteps

This is a pretty amazing product. The bouncer is for infants which can then be attached to the high chair so you infant baby-child can join the family at dinner from an early age.

20140226-224718.jpg

How very clever. The bouncer can be used as a bouncer. the high chair can be used as a high chair for babies and toddler and above AND they also come together to become a high chair/bouncer in one!

20140226-224633.jpgI was sent a stokkesteps system for review and cannot wait to share that with you! We love it! I also won a big ole prize at the event which I am over the moon about! Keep it here for more STOKKE news!

* This event was hosted by MOMTRENDS. I was not paid for this post*

Olives!

Thomas discovered the awesomeness of OLIVES. First let me start by saying… he eats anything…. all the time! So i guess i shouldn’t be that surprised that he ate half a can of black olives in one sitting.

IMG_5066

I have no complaints about his eating habits…but I have to make sure at any given time I have food… not snacks… food… nearby. Today he ate brussel sprouts and loved them. Good thing because we love veggies in this family especially when said veggies are sauteed in yummy garlic oil and drizzled with truffle oil.

IMG_5064

Recently Thomas ate a marshmallow and will slowly sign language ‘ eat’ and point right at the bag of marshmallows sitting on the counter. smart kid! Sometimes he’ll take his cheese or avocado or tomato and toss it across the room … all because of the marshmallow!

Lily has an amazing palate. This is a girl who would rather eat oysters than pizza. She loves spicy chicken wings over mac n cheese ( except truffle mac and cheese), and her favorite food is Biryani ( an indian rice dish my grandmother and matt make). Little man Thomas is showing signs of foodienss with his adventures eating as well. He loves stinky cheese, pickled anything, spicy food and kale chips! But then again… he eats it all. Which I love… and hope he continues this foodienes for life!

What fun foods are you feeding your babe?

We Don’t Take Naps!

Mama’s I need your afternoon napping tips!

Thomas has been sleeping like a champ at night. it’s pretty impressive how he just tucks in right at 8pm every night.. and it only took  22 days of sleep training.

We totally won in the overnight sleep department!

20140221-000755.jpg

Afternoon Naps… no so much.

Also, Thomas likes to snuggle with Jonah and just roll around or talk to him and poor Jonah Bear… just wants to sleep. What’s a dog to do! Our afternoon naps have been hit or miss. Unless I chase Thomas around the house all morning… he’s not going to take a nap and then in the evening.. it’s a fight to keep him up until 8pm so he doesn’t sleep early and wake up at 4am!

He does wake up at 5am which Jonah does not approve of. Thomas wants to play on the bed or roll on top of Jonah and Jonah just wants to catch some zzz’s but doesn’t want to miss the action so he stays with us and endures the no sleep nonsense!

20140221-000856.jpg

Do yo have any tips you can share? How did you get your babe to take their afternoon nap? Because I neeed this MOTO to sleep in the afternoon so I can have just a couple hours to clean, laundry, dishes, eat… you know! 20140221-000942.jpg

*Thomas is wearing –> 1. H&M kids, 2.Childrens Place top + Carters Kids Bottoms 3. Gap baby Pants  + PACT onesie.* Jonah goes nude 😉 *

New York International Toy Fair – Baby Toy Picks with TTPM

I’ve been covering the New York International Toy Fair for TTPM.com

contributor_button

It’s been such a treat to scope out my favorite BABY TOY/GEAR products and share them with the interwebs!

We are identifying baby as 18months and younger… which makes it pretty challenging to find ‘toys”.  Yes there were a handful of tech toys…but I am not a fan of a 6 month old staring at an ipad.

Also…. TTPM covered ipad toys so I was able to skip that in my coverage.

Here are my picks. I am over the moon about being asked to do this and be a part of this awesome company. So much more to come! Squueeeee!!!

If you have any baby/Toddler gear or toys you would like me to share. please do get in touch!!

Puppy bowl with Mohawk Carpet

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser.

You know how the big game happened… the big bowl game… the PUPPY BOWL GAME! What game did you think I talking about?

Superbowl Schumperbowl.. the really game that’s got those tails a wagging is the Puppy Bowl X.

Share_Mo_Love

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the cutest Bowl Game to hit Times Square.

I was invited , by Mohawk Flooring, to swing by the Puppy Bowl X and checkout  the action for myself. What can I say… Puppies on a mini football field! It was too cute.

Share_Mo_Love

What I loved about the Puppy Bowl X was that… here we were… in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Times Square …which had been turned into Superbowl Blvd… and there were a ton of people quietly watching the Puppy Bowl with soft oohs and ahhhs as to not disrupt or alarm the puppies.

Super sweet.

So… what does a flooring company have to do with the Puppy Bowl X ? Everything!  Mohawk Carpet is the official sponsor of the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl X… the carpet/field the puppies were playing on was the new SmartStrand Carpet from Mohawk flooring.

I met canine correspondent and Mohawk Carpet Spokesdog – Mo and was able to #ShowMoLove and Mo gave me the inside scoop on the SmartStrand Carpet.

Share_Mo_Love

The SmartStrand carpet actually has stain fighting molecules built right into the fiber and because of this there is no additional topical stain guard and the absence of this allows the carpet to stay soft for the little kiddies like Thomas who is crawling and rolling around the carpet all the time.

Share_Mo_Love

Our big carpet stain problems are Jonah’s big dirty paws dragging mud and whatever else from the back yard. Especially this snowy season, he has thick wet snow mud imbedded in his paws that just transfers right into the carpet.

*We were given a carpet sample to try out at home but it was so small that Jonah’s one toe would hardly fit on it. I wanted to sample the carpet square but to get the right amount of Jonah pressure it was just too small. We were unable to test our sample carpet square.*

For more info about Mohawk Carpet pay them a visit at MOHAWK CARPET. They are always having a fab canine photo contest… and right now if  you share a picture of your canine using the hashtag  #ShareMoLove every ‘like’ you get earns $2 toward puppy rescue. You can also share your pic on Instagram using the same hashtag and be in the running for $100 gift card and a bone shaped rug!

And of course how could I ever end this post without a photo of my sweet rescued beast! My Jonah Bear!

I throw my hands up in the air sometimes…

Lily sings this song….

I throw my hands up in the air sometimes,
Saying AYO! Gotta let go!
I wanna celebrate and live my life,
Saying AYO! Baby, let’s go! Taio cruz>

You know things are off kilter when my words of wisdom are coming from a pop song. <via Kidzbop>

new york mom

Today Lily went to school – with no snack, no lunch money, we missed her teachers meeting, we forgot who had to pick her up and she did not have her hat or gloves and it was below freezing. So there… Happy Monday to me. I throw my hands up in the air sometimes…

Things are good though. I don’t want to complain. I think sometimes I need to reflect on these moments on imperfection in my life just so I can truly appreciate all the perfectly perfect moments.

There’s been a ton of chatter in the media about these SUPER women who have it all. Husband- Career, Family, Dog, Running club, Book Club, Vacations, fab shoes and Lunches with gal pals. Well I want to meet one of these gals face to face and ask them a few questions. Because I have all this stuff too ya know  and it’s a balancing act with plates spinning and monkeys on bicycles riding in circles around me. And often times I fall off my tight rope with the plates crashing down on the monkeys riding in circles around me. ( see what i did there) You get the picture.

‘Cause it goes on and on and on…
And it goes on and on and on…

My days start on full speed and end in a crash. These days are full of awesome giggles and stories and glitter and meltdowns and bathtime and witching hours… and they are intense and often times I look at my week and think… what just happened! Can we sloooow this train down.

But it’s life right. It happens fast. We just need to catch it.

I’m about to jump into yet another work related adventure and I’m over the moon about it. I am a worker. I love to work, i love to have a project, i love to have a purpose and I love to be part of a team. So work is a MUST for me… I am happier in my home life when I’m working. It’s a healthy thing for all of us.

How do you girls juggle it all? What secrets do you have to looking so fab, getting dinner on the table, laundry, work deadlines… while also being ever-present for the littles in your life? Or is it time for us to be honest with each other and share these imperfect moments which make up this messy project called motherhood?

Mom

and in closing I’d like to share my favorite verse from the aforementioned song…

I came to dance, dance, dance, dance
I hit the floor ’cause that’s my plans, plans, plans, plans
I’m wearing all my favorite brands, brands, brands, brands   not wearing any pants pants pants pants pants ( lily’s version)
Give me some space for both my hands, hands, hands, hands

‘Cause it goes on and on and on…
And it goes on and on and on…

Hey hey. In case you noticed… I’ve not been very consistent in posting here lately. It’s because this site in under construction. You see, I make a few dollah dollah bills from this blog and I have to move it over to a new host and do all kinds of new fangled legal things to this here site.
